M101 Pinwheel Galaxy in Ursa Major

My best galaxy picture so far, I captured this on a night with exceptional transparency. Compare to the 14 bit Canon XSi image, 6x15min at the same site. The asymmetric spiral galaxy NGC 5474 is on the left edge. These are the longest exposures I have done yet, but there is still plenty of dynamic range in the camera to accommodate longer ones.

Bootland Farm, May 16, 2010, 11:55 PM - 1:30 AM; T=+6 to +3 C, seeing exceptional. 4x20 min, Orion Starshoot on 120mm refractor; Hutech LPS filter; autoguided.
