Trifid Nebula M20

This was the first frame of an intended six or seven for the night. It turned out perfectly, but my guiding failed on all successive frames - I still do not know why. Fortunately, this single frame is of such good quality that it stands pretty well on its own. I tried again on June 14, but had trouble getting a good focus that night and I prefer this image.

Verendrye airstrip, June 7, 2010, 11:55 PM - 12:15 AM; T=+5 C, seeing good. 1x20 min, Orion Starshoot on 120mm refractor; no filters; autoguided.
