Sunspots

This is my first attempt at solar imaging with 120ED refractor. Although not as good a telescope as the TV-85, its larger aperture and focal length provide better resolution and magnification. This image was created by cropping a portion of the best 120 images of 2000 acquired, and stacking with Registax with dithering at double resolution. Seeing was merely adequate this day, with good transparency..

Ottawa, Ontario; April 15, 11:00-11:30 AM EDT; 0 C; Canon XSi on 120ED; Baader visual solar filter; seeing fair; selections from 120 images at ISO 400, 1/500 s.
